More than 1.5 million new cancer cases are expected to be diagnosed this year. The American Cancer Society estimates almost 9,000 of those people will be right here in Maine. Despite the work being done, cancer is the second most common cause of death, exceeded only by heart disease. Those are the statistics. Now it's time to rally together and join the fight. Relay For Life events are now set for next weekend across the state. Sue and Meghan with the American Cancer Society are here to talk about those.
