Details: Celebrate World Oceans Day with Maine Coastal Program with an exciting evening commemorating the 50th anniversary of the publication of Rachel Carson's Silent Spring. The event will feature presentations by three leading "Women Pioneers in Ocean Exploration and Advocacy": Anne Doubilet, an underwater photographer for National Geographic; Dr. Nancy Knowlton from the Smithsonian Institution's Natural History Museum in Washington, DC; and Dr. Susan Shaw, director of the Marine Environmental Research Institute (MERI) in Blue Hill, Maine. All three women will give inspiration talks about their work and their careers.
