Former Turnpike Director Violette Facing Possible Lawsuit

The Maine Turnpike Authority is now considering a civil lawsuit against its former executive director, Paul Violette.
   
Violette resigned earlier this year after more than two decades on the job. Under his watch, the Turnpike Authority was accused of not keeping track of hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of gift cards, some of which Violette allegedly used on himself.
   
The Turnpike Authority board is expected to meet Tuesday morning, and a decision on a possible lawsuit could come as early as then.
