Gay Marriage Battle Focuses on Schools

While the debate continues over whether same-sex marriage will be taught in Maine schools if the state's gay marriage law holds, some are pointing to a 2008 report suggesting it's already being taught in Maine schools.
The report, compiled by the Commission on Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Youth as part of the state's anti-bullying law, calls for teachers to point out that kids with same-sex parents shouldn't be harassed.
The No on One campaign responded that the report's recommendations were rejected by the Commissioner of Education and the report was submitted to the Governor.
